Precarious employment of faculty temporary in Mexican universities
Abstract
This paper seeks to elucidate how the working conditions of the different types of temporary professors who work in Mexican universities are configured. Know and explain how salaries, hours, activities, transfers, obligations and rights that they assume when working as a temporary teacher are defined. It seeks to analyze this situation through the concept of precariousness
which is reconstructed and some relevant dimensions are proposed for the specific case of the work carried out by temporary university professors. The results presented here are based on a research work with a qualitative approach, where in-depth interviews were conducted with temporary professors from three universities: ibero, uam and uacm. The configurationist approach helps to reconstruct the teaching work and analyze it through the concept of precariousness, from a multidimensional vision, seeking to
understand the phenomenon.
