The educational dimension of Section 22 during the covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

This article seeks to account for the educational proposals deployed by Section 22 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) of Mexico during the covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021). Section 22 has a leading place within the Oaxacan educational system, which means that its decisions have an impact on the educational future in the State. Section 22 has been characterized by practicing a belligerent trade unionism in which its alternative education proposal is a fundamental dimension. In this article we will detail their educational proposals for an exceptional moment such as a pandemic. In our research we use the case study technique and qualitative data construction instruments such as the semi-structured interview and work with secondary data.

Mariano Casco Peebles

Integrante del Programa de Becas Posdoctorales en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (unam), becario del Instituto de Investigaciones sobre la Universidad y la Educación (iisue), obtuvo el Doctorado en Estudios Sociales en la Línea Estudios Laborales en la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Iztapalapa, Ciudad de México. Su línea de investigación se halla en los estudios laborales y de la educación. Posee Maestría en Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Guadalajara, Guadalajara, México y Licenciatura en Sociología, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina. En Alemania obtuvo el Premio Demetrios Awards de la International Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Arts (iasha) por su tesis doctoral.
