This article analyzes how the precarious labor conditions in brick manufacturing in Tercera Chica and Tercera Grande, San Luis Potosí, constitute the main mechanism that configures them as urban peripheries conducive to accumulation by dispossession. It is based on ethnography and interviews conducted from November 2023 to January 2024 in both locations, recording the characteristics that make this work precarious and its effects on those who subsist from it, in order to measure the dispossession they suffer. It concludes that the urbanization of the capital of San Luis Potosí, supported in part by the brick, sustains this process and aggravates it by marginalizing and excluding the inhabitants of these towns from public services and infrastructure.
